🗺️ Fully signposted

The course follows the official Round the Island Cycle Route in a clockwise direction, signed with blue and white markers plus additional Randonnee signage at key junctions.

🌿 Quiet roads and lanes

The route uses quieter Island roads and lanes wherever possible, taking you through stunning coastal scenery, rolling countryside and picturesque villages.

⛰️ Expect some climbing

With around 1,500m of elevation gain, the route has some challenging climbs — but the views from the top make every one worth it.

🔄 Flexible start points

There's no single start line. Begin at any official checkpoint (except Alverstone) and ride the route clockwise. Start where it suits you — whether you're arriving by ferry or already on the Island.

⚡Please note: There are no electric charging points along the route. E-bike riders should plan accordingly.

Do I have to complete the full 100km of the Isle of Wight Randonnee 2026 with Mountbatten Isle of Wight route?

No — the Randonnee is designed to be flexible. You can start and finish at any checkpoint, and ride as much or as little of the route as you like.

It's your ride. Whether you complete the full Island loop or enjoy a section of it, what matters is that you get out and ride.

🚴 Note: Only the 100km full route is available in 2026. We hope to reintroduce a 50km Mini Randonnee option in future years.
