Now I have something to look forward to each week." - Marie is supported by a volunteer Mountbatten Neighbour Mountbatten Neighbours support older Islanders who are living with chronic life-limiting illnesses, and with frailty, and those feeling isolated. Neighbours offer their time, companionship and support, and develop natural, mutual friendships. They are valued by those they visit. A Mountbatten Neighbour will usually visit or meet with someone for at least one hour a week, but it can be more if you choose. CLICK HERE for more about becoming a charity shop volunteer on the Isle of Wight Volunteer to help run a Mountbatten Isle of Wight event Roles will vary but will include welcoming participants and spectators to event sites and locations, supporting the event manager with set-up and pack down, providing information to participants and spectators, registering or checking-in participants, collecting donations, supporting participants around the event, such as marshalling, cheering or handing out refreshments, celebrating participants who cross the finish line and giving out medals and water.
