Verification of death in adults is available to book as a face-to-face training course with hospice charity, Mountbatten Isle of Wight.

By the end of this verification of death in adults course, you will be able to:

• Discuss the legal requirements and professional accountability
• Recognise the documentation process
• Apply local policy / protocol to practice
• Safely perform a physical assessment to confirm death on a mannequin (practice during the session)
• Gain the theoretical knowledge required to proceed to an assessment in clinical practice
• Understand the benefit of timely verification of death in adults and how this can reduce anxiety and distress for families

*This session will not check or sign off competencies of verifying a adult death; a local policy will need to be in place in your own workplace to ensure competencies are checked within your team.

Cancellation policy:

We understand that sometimes it is necessary to change plans. However, to ensure our costs are covered in the event of cancellation the following charges will apply.

• Cancellations (and requests to transfer bookings to another date) made with at least 8 weeks’ notice will incur a £25 administration fee.
• No refund of course fees (partial or full) will be available where notice to cancel is received within 8 weeks of the course start date, or in the event of non-attendance or partial attendance.

If, due to unforeseen circumstances, Mountbatten cancels a course you will be given the option to transfer your booking or receive a full refund of the course fees.
