In 2012 he converted a former bank into Ventnor Arts Club, which provides a meeting place for people interested in the arts and hosts live music, independent cinema, talks and live satellite broadcasts of events at the National Theatre, Royal Opera House, New York Met and others.

He is a director of Isle of Wight cultural investment company, Venturesouth and the Island’s official film office, Filmwight.

His spare time is spent cruising the Solent and the Channel Islands, golfing and walking his dog, Scout.

Stephen has recently taken up beekeeping, amusing neighbours when inspecting the hive in his protective suit.
