Our aim is to help you maintain your daily routines and activities, as much as you’d like to, so your stay feels as normal and positive as it can be. What should I bring to Mountbatten Isle of Wight's inpatient unit? To make your stay more comfortable, please consider bringing: Your usual day clothes and footwear. Any items that support your movement or comfort. If you use specialised equipment, please let us know in advance so we can accommodate your needs. Nutritional items or supports you require. Your current medications, ideally in their original packaging. An up-to-date list of your medications, such as a copy of your repeat prescriptions. If you choose to bring valuables, you can hand them to a nurse for safekeeping and sign a valuables form. This ensures your items are secure, as we cannot take responsibility for them otherwise. Please note that there isn’t a cashpoint on-site. The nearest is at Fairlee Service Station on Fairlee Road, about a quarter of a mile away. Additional cashpoints can be found in Newport town centre, which is within walking distance. Are visitors welcome to Mountbatten Isle of Wight's inpatient unit? Your family and friends are welcome to visit you any day of the week, at any time that suits you. We provide several spaces for visitors: A quiet room, perfect for moments of reflection or conversation. A family and friends room, equipped with tea and coffee-making facilities. Children are always welcome to visit but must be supervised at all times. We have a children’s outdoor play area, play boxes, and games consoles to help keep them entertained during their visit. Your pet is also welcome to visit you as we understand how comforting their presence can be. We’re here to make your stay as supportive and welcoming as possible.
