This February 2026 half term, we’re inviting all school-aged children on the Isle of Wight to design the next Schools Walk the Wight medal! We’ve already received some brilliant entries and can’t wait to see more. Whether your child's design is bold, colourful, simple, detailed, inspired by walking, the Island, or something totally original — we’d love to see it. What your child could win: The winning design will feature on this year’s Schools Walk the Wight 2026 medal, handed out at Walk the Wight 2026 when people complete the Schools Walk. Binstead Primary pupil, Teddy Hobbs, was the proud winner of last year's Schools Walk the Wight medal design competition. Teddy said: “I wanted to make a medal all about Mountbatten and what they actually do,” he explained. “My design is the Isle of Wight, with The Needles on one side and an aeroplane on the other. I was thinking about the colours and where to place every detail.” Who can enter the Schools Walk the Wight 2026 medal competition: This competition is open to ALL Isle of Wight school-aged children (any school, any year group, including home-educated children).
